You don't need the right words, and you don't have to be certain about anything to reach out.

You are not the only one, and that is not a figure of speech

We should say up front: Lüvable is for adults, 18 and over. You can't join us, and we're not going to pretend otherwise. This page exists because you deserve a straight answer about where to actually go, from people who aren't trying to sign you up for anything.

Here is what the research says, so you know this isn't just you:

The hiding is exhausting, and it costs something real

Watching what you say. Checking who's behind you before you look at your phone. Laughing at the joke. Having a whole version of yourself you keep in a drawer for later. Working out, every single day, who is safe and who isn't.

That's not being dramatic. That's a constant background task running in your head while you're also supposed to be doing algebra, and it is genuinely tiring in a way people who don't do it cannot picture.

And peer pressure at your age isn't a small thing either — research is clear that it's at its most intense in exactly these years, which is part of why coming out feels so much bigger than adults remember it being.

One thing the research found that might actually help you

68% of LGBTQ+ young people say online spaces are the most accessible place they can be themselves — ahead of school, which came second at around 54%.

So if the internet is where you've been finding people, you're not hiding from real life. You're doing the thing that is statistically most likely to work, and you are doing it correctly. Just make it the good parts of the internet — the places below are staffed by people trained for this, and not one of them will tell your parents.

Places built for you, free, and used to this

If it's got as far as thinking about ending it

Say it to one of the numbers at the top of this page. Not because it's a rule, but because the people there have heard it many times, they won't panic, and they won't judge you. You can text. You don't have to explain it well. You don't even have to be sure that's what you meant.

It's worth knowing: the thing that makes this so much heavier at your age is partly that you can't leave yet — not the school, not the house, not the town. That changes. It changes more completely than almost anything else in life does, and a lot of people reading this site are proof of it. Getting from here to there is the whole job, and you don't have to do that part on your own.

Why we're not inviting you in

Lüvable is a chat community for adults. We've set the age at 18, deliberately, because a platform where teenagers and adults are in rooms together is not something we can keep right — and we would rather tell you that plainly than take your sign-up and hope.

The places above are better for you than we would be. They're free, they're confidential, and they exist for exactly this.

And we'll be here later.
